Is it safe to say what you really think?

I often ask people how safe is it for them to say what they really think in their workplace. For example, is it safe for them to say what they really, truly think in meetings or in discussions with their boss or with colleagues?

Are you a great listener? Really? But how do you know?

I was a participant in a workshop last week...and became fascinated by the behaviour of my fellow participants (and myself too!).  Several times when we were in group discussions I noticed how little people actually listened!

Leadership matters!

Often when I talk with people about the word 'leadership', the first thing that springs to mind is well-known people who have made an impact on the world - the Mahatma Gandhis, Mother Theresas and Ed Hilarys of the world. Or they think of CEO's and senior management.
